I'm at Track 12 now, and nothing else in the game has been anywhere close to that difficult except maybe the Kale fight, which might be broken for some people. It's just that one difficulty spike in Track 5. It has consequences when the game decides to throw enemies at you who attack off beat¹.ĮDIT: And the rest of the game was far, far easier. Turns out that spending five hours training yourself to only-and-forever-always avoid hitting buttons on anything other than quarter-note beats, on the assumption that the game saying "enemy attacks always land on the beat" is a bad idea. It was frustrating enough that I very nearly gave up playing it, particularly because the 'hard' part of that fight always comes at the very end, after everything else. Almost all of it to fights involving that ONE enemy. Holy fucking shit, I died FOURTEEN TIMES in that level. Up until Track 5 the worst I'd done was die three times in a single level. I've been playing on Hard, with little to no experience with rhythm games. The game's combat is fun, it's fun to be challenged by it on a higher difficulty setting, but the way some fights are so obnoxious to die on makes me feel like they just designed the game assuming the player would rarely die and didn't actually consider that some people might want a challenge or something. Not long ones, just a few seconds, but it's still really obnoxious and still just inexcusable garbage design, in my opinion, and it makes the game worse. So the game has a ton of fights that have short dialogue or cutscenes that need to be rewatched every time you die. the ones that you'd most want to skip because they replay every time you die) are not skippable. Unfortunately, the vast majority of the cutscenes or dialogue that happen before or during fights (i.e. Platforming's okay, combat's really fun, and the story's cute and nails the cartoon tone.īut why the hell are there unskippable cutscenes, let alone unskippable cutscenes that come in between a checkpoint and a difficult fight, in a game in 2023?ĮDIT: Please stop responding saying you can skip cutscenes. I have one massive problem with the game: unstoppable cutscenes before/during fights that you have to watch again every time you die. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
